Join us for our Special Events and Weekly Opportunities

Thursday, February 9
7:00 pm:   Gordon Jensen,
one of the greatest Christian songwriters of all time, as well as a gifted artist and minister will be returning to Southside for a mid-week concert.  He will be a blessing for our church and your individual life.  Join us on this special Thursday night and bring a friend.

Wednesday, February 15
7:00 pm:   Meet us at the Mission.  The third Wednesday of each month is Southside Night at the Orlando Union Rescue Mission. One of our pastors brings the message to the Men's Division during their evening service.  Support this outreach with your prayers.  Any of our men who would like to attend as support are also welcome.

Saturday, February 18
9:30 am:  Every third Saturday a few faithful show up at the church for our monthly workday.  We can always use more help to keep our church buildings looking good.

Wednesday, February 29
Pastor Randy and Dalys Brown will board a plane for Honduras as our missionary representatives.  Please pray for their safety and health while they are there.  They will be in Honduras for ten days.

Sunday each week
9:15 am:  Sunday School for all ages.  We  have classes for all  ages from infants to 12th grade as well as classes for adults with dedicated teachers for each class
**New** We now have a Spanish language Sunday School class for children.

Pastor Buddy Lear will continue with the study of the book of Hebrews.

Our Discipleship class will be in recess this quarter as Pastor Randy and Dalys prepare for their mission trip to Honduras in March.

10:25 am:  Worship, Praise and Preaching service and our Children's/Youth Church.  Nursery available for children 3 and younger.

12:00 pm:  Choir practice meets after the morning Worship Service.  The only requirement to be a member of our choir is a desire to praise God in song.  The choir has begun work on the Easter music, but it's not too late to be a part of that presentation.

12:30 pm:  The Orlando Baptist Church of Philos, a Korean language service with Pastor Paul Kim meets in the sanctuary.

5:00 pm:  **New**Arabic Baptist Church of Central Florida with Pastor Nabeel Ramzy, meets in the sanctuary.  English interpretation is available.

Tuesday evening each week
7:00 pm:  Hope Fellowship Orlando conducts a contemporary service in our sanctuary each week. This service is led by Pastor Tim Goad and everyone, including the Southside congregation, is invited to attend.

Thursday evening each week
6:00 pm:  Southside's Prayer Warriors gather each Thursday to pray.  Please join us or if you have a prayer request, email or call it into the office at 407-859-5340.  The request will be forwarded to the Prayer Warriors while we are in recess.
7:00 pm:  During the Pastor's Bible study hour we are happy to welcome back guest teacher Shane Ryle.  He is bringing us a series of Bible lessons on "Surviving Hard Times by Faith in our Never Failing Lord God".

Saturday each week
8:30 am:  Assist the Servant's Heart Ministry in delivering food boxes and be a blessing to a single mother in our area.  Each Saturday a different team delivers these boxes to four or five families.  We still need more volunteers; so if you would like to help please see Lori Sunday.

Outreach Ministry and Mission opportunities:
Each month we as a church help to support missionaries in Honduras and Zambia, as well as the Life Without Limbs Ministry.  We also support the Servant's Heart Ministry and Child Evangelism Fellowship, both local ministries.

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) is an organization that is reaching elementary school age children with the Gospel through after school and summer Bible Clubs.

Nick Vujicic, founder of "Life Without Limbs", has a unique testimony.  Nick was born without arms or legs, but that hasn't stopped him from fulfilling the Great Commission by spreading the Gospel throughout the world.  To learn more about this outreach visit their website at www.lifewithoutlimbs.org .

"Loving the Least of These Ministry" sends missionaries to Honduras.  As part of their ministry they have a school for children who otherwise would be unable to get an education.  You can sponsor a child for $30.00 per month. If you would like to make this commitment or any other contribution please visit their website at www.lovingtheleastofthese.org for more information.

Elizabeth Ratliff is a missionary to the people of Zambia including prison inmates.  She is so grateful for our prayers in addition to her financial support.  We also collect food items and other things  that are impossible to get where she is.  Suggested items for Elizabeth are:  Splenda, sugar-free jello, soft tortilla wraps, sugar-free gum, nuts, raisins, dry beans, and zip lock gallon size freezer bags.  Please check the more detailed list posted on her box or see Lori Sunday with any questions.

Each Saturday two to four people from Southside  assist Servant's Heart by delivering boxes of groceries to single mothers who are in need.  If you would like to donate items for the boxes the most needed items are bathroom tissue and powdered milk (packages with individual pouches are best).  Canned goods and nonperishable items are also needed.  For information on participating in packing boxes or delivering them, please see Lori Sunday.   Monetary donations which enable Servant's Heart to buy chickens to be delivered with the canned goods are also appreciated.

If you would like to contribute to our Food Ministries there are boxes set up for donations in the room by the sanctuary foyer.  Any of the items listed above are appreciated.
